You don't expect yourself to have to give up work in your 40s. it comes as a bit of a shock to the
system but that is what has happened to me.
It isn't easy adjusting to life with out work. Lots of people make jokes and ask how I'm enjoying my
life of leisure but the truth is not working has left me slightly adrift. I'd become used to arranging my time around
when I had to be at work and my days off.
The crunch came when I realised I had spent a whole day, 9 hours, doing housework. So now I am trying to get to
grips with my life before I become one of those women who hoover twice a day and have nothing better to talk about than the
price of satusumas in Tesco.
I have an opportunity that many people only dream of. I have the chance to give up doing the job I
had to do to make ends meet and persue the things that interest me. Hopefully this will lead me back into the job market
but doing something I enjoy.
